Waiting

This energetic, fist-pumping rock song was written out of frustration. As an artist, rebellion creeps in when someone else is pulling all the strings. In this particular case, not doing anything at all was the issue. Sometimes you “..can’t fly on borrowed wings.”

I had just finished the lead vocal for Waiting and Frank turned to me and said, “I’m hearing a Disney thing in the background.” I looked at him like “What?” He went on to say, “Some kind of chant or something.” Well, after about 1000 takes, ‘hummm, chugga, chugga, hummm’ was dropped in the mix. It’s subtle but really gives the bottom a real punch in the later choruses. Thanks Frank! I never doubted ya! Buy now!

When it rains it pours
When the reigns are yours
I can’t move my hands are tied

Waiting, waiting

Waiting for a sun to shine
Waiting for what can be mine

Your Indecision takes hold of me
I can’t focus on what you see
I can’t fly on borrowed wings

Freedom, freedom

I will not surrender my soul to you
I will not surrender my soul to you

No more, waiting
For a sun to shine
Waiting for what will be mine
